TWO RADIOS : MUCH BETTER THAN ONE
Having two independent and full featured radios on a single device
enables network administrators to achieve a wide variety of configurations
and meeting the exact needs of his deployment. Lobometrics gives double radio advantages with single radio prices.
Here are a few examples of configuration modes :
- Double capacity access point
In large networks the capacity to deliver good performance to a large
number of users is critical. The dual radio architecture of the Lobo 911, 916N,
924T and 954T
combined with the high bandwidth each radio can deliver
enables highly efficient dense wireless networks. The number of users
and the connection speed achievable more than doubles without doubling
costs on infrastructure.
Extending the coverage of your wireless network without degrading
performance is not an easy task. The farther you go from the central
node the lower will be the performance.
The Lobometrics dual radio architecture enables an unlimited range
growth maintaining speed by configuring one of the radios in bridge mode
(connecting point-to-point with the previous loop) and the second radio
in access point mode giving users local wireless access to the network.
- Bridge extenders for Non-Line-of-Sight or very long distance
connections
A common workaround to avoid big obstacles between two wireless
devices is installing a third device in a location accessible by both.
This can be achieved with single radio architectures but performance
degrades at least by 50% because that radio has to share its time
between receiving from point A and re-emitting the data to point B.
The Lobometrics dual radio architecture enables simultaneous receiving
and emitting, eliminating any performance degradation. Not just that,
efficiency, strength and quality of the link is much better because a
dual radio architecture devices can be connected to two separate
directional antennas, focused sharply on point A and B instead of a
single low efficiency omnidirectional antenna trying to capture signals
for both A and B at a time.
Using dual directional antennas in bridge extenders also has
important benefits in security because your wireless link is sharply
transported form point to point instead of spreaded around the area.
LOBOMETRICS DUAL RADIO FOUR CHANNEL BONDING : 4X FASTER
For high performance point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links the
Lobometrics single radio series can operate at
two simultaneous channels, the two channels are bonded behaving as a single
link but with double bandwidth. With Lobometrics dual radio systems, four
channels can be bonded to achieve extremely fast point-to-point (or
point-to-multipoint) links. Its equivalent in standard systems would be having
four Turbo APs connecting to another four Turbo APs and adding the speed of all
the links. This is done by Lobometrics with a single device.
